"I love you," says the young girl to her parents. They nod and continue with their business. She takes a deep breath and looks around for the last time. Going into the bathroom, she lays in the tub. From her pocket she pulls out her father's knife as tears roll down her face- she closes her eyes. For awhile she ponders life and death, weighing the two. As the blood flows from her wrists and down her arm, she starts to get scared. She knows it won't be long now. Frantically, she begins to scream. As her parents come to scold her for the noise, her mother says calmly, "What have we done to ourselves?"
These are the last words she ever heard. She died scared, angry, hurt. Not by her own self inflictions, but rather from the pain she was forced to suffer her whole life. But the chain continued, as it always does. For her little sister was watching and her emotions would soon consume her, too... |
